If you had to list the ten greatest wrestlers of all time, based on wrestling ability, how would you rank them?

My list:

10) "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
09) Eddie Guerrero.
08) CM Punk.
07) Shawn Michaels.
06) Chris Benoit.
05) The Undertaker.
04) Daniel Bryan.
03) Lance Storm.
02) Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
01) Kurt Angle.

My order is:

Undertaker
Eddie Guerrero
Chris Benoit
Kurt Angle
Shawn Michaels

I love the undertaker, but I respect Kurt Angle the most out of any of them. He is legit.

3. Kurt Angle
4. Undertaker(especially from 1997 - 2011)
5. Ricky The Dragon
6. Bret Hart and HBK
7. Stone Cold(Pre neck injury. People forget he used to be a technical wrestler)

This is tough but I'll say it's Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, or Chris Jericho. Probably forgetting someone

I didn't really expect to see Goldberg on lists. I like him, but I never really noticed him being great with his wrestling abilities. Maybe I just didn't pay attention though.

Not in order:
Kurt Angle
Chris Jericho
Chris Benoit
Brock Lesnar
Undertaker
Eddie Guerrero
Bret Hart

Can't really think of more, but I'm sure there many more. Maybe someone like Mick Foley or even Edge.

Didn't expect to see Rey on these lists either. He is a good wrestler, but I don't think he is a great one, especially when you watch a lot of mexican wrestling.

Randy Orton from about 2004 - 2005 was great, before he became all boring and doing a million stomps a match.

Seth Rollins is a fantastic wrestler too. Someone I wouldn't hesitate to put above Macho Man if he just did a little more in WWE.

All of his matches with Daniel Bryan (Then Bryan Danielson) in ROH were all five star.

Rey Mysterio revolutionized wrestling in America for people his size. On WCW, he would do things that people have never seen. His talent in the ring makes him top ten for me.

Rey Mysterio has never had a bad match. I can't begin to explain how well he can sell moves and make others look great. I mean last night, even with his surgically replaced knees, he put on a great show with the Bad News Barret.

If you say he is not a great wrestler, that is just mind blowing to me.

I saw a match on WCW where they had two rings side to side. Rey Mysterio jumped from rope to rope. It was spectacular. He is a legend in Mexico.

He was incredible on WCW. In WWE, I can remember all the WOOs he got when he first came into the company. He definitely makes the crowd pop in matches. Your list is filled with more technical wrestlers than Lucha Libre so perhaps it isn't your style.

edit:

Lets not forget all the incredible matches he had with Y2J and Eddie Guerrero who are two wrestlers people mentioned in this topic.

Rey has put on good matches, great even, but top ten best of all time? I dunno. I think AJ Styles is a better high flyer.

He has wrestled Eddie Guerrero and Y2J. You had one of them you had on your list. Rey had constant feuds with both Y2J and Eddie Guerrero that are legendary even to this day. Those two wrestlers had so much respect for Rey Mysterio and constantly complimented his in-ring abilities. If they say he was talented in ring and had respect for him, then there is no reason as to why he shouldn't be in the top ten. It seems contradictory to have Y2J and Eddie Guerrero on lists as legit contenders for all time wrestlers, but not Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio isn't anywhere near Guerrero IMO, and just because a wrestler says they were good, doesn't mean they're better than others.

Who's to say Samoa Joe can't out-wrestle Rey?

Del Rio is another one I can't wrap my head around. He is okay against some wrestlers, but he is pretty bad against others. His opponents can share blame, sure, but he is really a mixed bag IMO. He cannot consistently put on good matches like Ziggler, Ambrose etc.

But hey, that's just my two cents.

hmm just going to add this here, well several years ago some wrestling thing came to my city and i went to watch
saw a bunch of wrestlers, booker t, bautista ect..

at one point i reached over and grabbed baustista he smiled and then the security guard like pushed me away, yep

i agree with pookie, rey was a good character and brought a lot of excitement, and helped out the smaller wrestlers find a way in the wwe

surprised by the lack of love for stone cold and the rock, yeah edge was good too and chris jericho
